According to the "Special Equipment Safety Supervision and Administration Regulations," lifting machinery refers to electromechanical equipment used for vertically lifting or simultaneously lifting and horizontally moving heavy objects. This category includes elevators with a rated lifting capacity of 0.5 tons or more; cranes with a rated lifting capacity of 3 tons or more (or tower cranes with a rated lifting moment of 40 t·m or greater, or loading and unloading bridges capable of handling materials at a rate of 300 tons per hour or higher), provided their lifting height is 2 meters or more; as well as mechanical parking systems featuring two or more levels. Under the "Catalogue of Special Equipment," these devices are classified into types such as bridge cranes, gantry cranes, tower cranes, mobile cranes, portal cranes, elevators, cable cranes, mast cranes, and mechanical parking systems.
