They are primarily categorized into metal slings and synthetic fiber slings. Metal slings include wire rope slings, chain slings, webbing slings, shackles, hooks, lifting (gripper) clamps, and magnetic lifting devices, among others. Synthetic fiber slings, on the other hand, are made from materials such as nylon, polypropylene, polyester, and high-strength, high-modulus polyethylene fibers, resulting in rope- and web-based lifting equipment. In electromechanical engineering lifting techniques, the main components of slings typically consist of wire ropes, pulley systems, winches, and balance beams.
